There are a variety of ways to strengthen your intuition. One way is by becoming more Mindful. By this I mean being in the present moment each and every day. It does take practice but the more you focus on each activity you do throughout your day the easier it will become. Each day is made up of a string of moments and the more we can " be" in each and every one of those moments, the easier life will flow.
We tend to flit from one task to the next and even try to multi-task during our busy days both at work and at home, even when driving, however, slowing down and focusing on one task at a time and giving it our full attention, makes us more productive, less stressed and enables us to listen to our inner voice or our intuition. Listening to our intuition and even more importantly "trusting" our intuition can completely transform our lives.
Our intuition is the guidance we need in making decisions throughout our day. Should I go right or left? Should I say yes or no? You hear the phone ring and you "just know" who is calling? This is your intuition. You may just know something, or it may be a gut feeling. Imagine how much better life would be if we felt more certain about the decisions we are making rather than just "hoping for the best". Practising Mindfulness can begin with anything from washing dishes, eating meals, gardening, hanging out washing, working, driving, doing your makeup etc. Start with one thing then build on that.
It is so easy for our minds to drift off somewhere else and be thinking about a multitude of things but bringing our attention back to the task we are currently performing allows us to appreciate the moments and be fully engaged in our lives. The best way to strengthen your intuition is by using it. It is practice like everything else that we want to improve in our lives. The more you quiet your mind and listen, the more you will begin to hear the prompts, the nudges, the feelings that guide you through your life. The most important thing is to believe and trust. Any doubt will shut it down as well as fear. Be open and information will begin to flow to you.
Meditation is a perfect way to quiet our minds. Sitting still and breathing enables you to be completely immersed in the moment. Of course thoughts will come and go but while you are sitting still and breathing, you are focusing only on that "one thing".
